Infant II Room
Welcome to Infant II, the room for our older infants. Here we’ll care for your child when they’re about 8 – 15 months old, depending on their development and the space available in the Toddler Room. We’re excited to get to know you and your little one better.
Schedule
We continue to follow your individual child’s routine, rather than having a set routine for all children to follow. You’ll give us your child’s daily schedule, which we’ll post in the room to make sure our teachers follow the same routine at child care you use at home. When you pick up your child, we’ll give you a sheet describing their day, including when they ate, slept and had their diaper changed. As your little one grows, we’ll work with you to adjust their schedule as needed. As your child gets closer to their transition to the Toddler Room, we’ll work together to help them get prepared for the more set schedule of their next classroom.
Important Information About the Infant II Room
The Infant II Room doesn’t use the Primary Caregiver system used in the Infant I Room. All teachers play a role in your child’s daily routine.
What to Bring to Infant II
We’ll transition the diapers, food, medications and other items from the Infant I Room into Infant II. We provide both sippy cups and ointment for your child.
You’ll be asked to supply the following items for your little one:
- One or two extra outfits to stay in your child’s cubby. Make sure they’re always size and seasonally appropriate.
- Diapers
- Any special diapering needs such as creams or powders.
- If you prefer to bring in your own food or formula, please label everything with your child’s name.
- Sunscreen
- A special blanket or toy for sleeping.
- Any medications your child needs.

Bottles
Please bring enough bottles for each feeding and label each one. Bottles should be taken home daily and sanitized, and clean bottles need to be brought in each day. We’ll place dirty bottles in plastic bags in your child’s diaper bag, for you to take home and clean.
Meals and Snacks
We provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Our meals include table food, crackers, Cheerios, nutri-grain bars, apple juice and whole milk (we’ll provide 2% milk if requested by your child’s doctor). When your child starts table food, we’ll work with you to determine what your child can eat each day. A copy of the menu is available if needed.
We also provide iron fortified formula and rice and oatmeal cereal for those parents who choose to participate.
Storage is provided if you choose to bring in your child’s formula or baby food.
Medicines
Your child will have their own medicine sign-up sheet in our room. Each day you’d like us to give medicine to your child, you’ll need to fill out this sheet with the name of the medicine, the date, and the time and dosage to administer. When you pick up your little one from child care, you’ll sign the sheet to verify we’ve given your child the medication.
All medication must be clearly labeled with your child’s name. Prescription medicines must come in their original containers with the pharmacy label. We will also require sign-up sheets for the applications of sunscreen and any ointments that may need to be applied to your child.
